3 Days of trekking in the desert of M’hamid, Zagora, Desert of Morocco

Day 1: Trekking the palm grove of M’hamid

Departure on foot from the fixed bivouac in M’hamid, accompanied by the Mélodie du désert team and the camel caravan. 

In the morning, trek in the Sahara desert and head for the palm grove of M’hamid. Tea and lunch are taken in the shade of a Tamarisk tree.

After a rest, we leave for the sanctuary of Sidi Naji. Oral tradition reports that this marabout lived 18 grandfathers ago! A place is full of history and local customs. In the evening, the bivouac is set up at the foot of the sand dunes. Night in the desert in tents or under the starry sky.

Day 2: Trekking the Erg Zahar (holing dunes)

At the rhythm of the sun, the bivouac folds up. Departure through the dunes and then a vast dry lake to reach the magnificent dunes of the erg Zahar (known as “howling dunes”). Overnight in the Sahara desert in tents or under the stars.

Day 3: Final day – End of the trek

Return to M’hamid and then head to Marrakech. Transfer you to the airport.
